April 7th

derekrhegednetHere we are back from Rheged. Andrea and Barry, as always had put a lot off work into organising and advertising it and it was nice to see them and Chris, and Dale again. Here's Derek on his stall.

April 1st

The following is absolutely true - I didn't really know how to record but wanted to before my memory started playing tricks on me. So I have simply told the story of the past 17 days or so - please read it - there are very exciting times ahead.

Two days before our show in Leamington Spa, Thursday 15th March. Derek and I were driving back from the Market. It was quiet so we’d decided to close a little early in order to call into a suppliers.

I was tired – we’d been working very hard preparing for the show, so I decided to wait in the car whilst Derek went inside.

What happened next is a little difficult to describe because if I say “I heard a voice” it really isn’t  strictly true – I can only describe it as words that by-passed my my ears and went straight into my brain. The message it gave me was clear “Open the Healing Centre” I, of course said something like “Yeah right, and pay for it how?” Again the answer came directly “crystals and shows” I was also told it was to be called the “Silver Moon Centre for Spiritual Knowledge” and that I would be “shown the building shortly”.

Now, Derek and I have dreamt of a rural Centre where people can come and get their souls healed, get teaching, and refresh their spirits for a long time. We have shared this dream with close friends but never had a clue where in the UK it would be, (or how we would afford it!) We have just had a clear conviction that it would happen – one day.

So excited was I by this message that I went in and told Derek, who, being his lovely pragmatic self, said something like “we’d better do it then”

At this point I’d like to say that I really do not know who these voices are – only that they filled me with peace and confidence. Angels? Guides? Ascended Masters? My Higher Self? The Holy Spirit? God? I have no idea so I have decided, until I get some enlightenment, I will simply refer to them as my advisors.

The second part of this story comes less than 36 hours later at a caravan site near Leamington Spa. We were there, obviously, because of our show the following morning.

We were sat in the van with our friend Bob Ashford, also there for the show and I was discussing, amongst other things this message. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. I opened it to see a young woman, aged about 30. Her conversation opener was “I’m a medium – you may need my help one day” – of course I invited her in. She introduced herself as Paula Wratten and said she had a message for Derek and I. “You” she said “Are to open a healing centre” She also gave Bob a brief message which was personal to him and then left,

Believe me I do not experience this sort of direct guidance on a daily basis.

What followed next, to be honest, was a brief period of total confusion. Feeling I had responsibility to immediately find and open this Centre. I also thought that if we were to open this centre (still having no idea where it would be, except that another medium friend of mine had said the midlands somewhere) then we would have to close the market stall, losing a valuable, if small, source of income.

The next week was spent anxiously looking out of my car window trying to spot a suitable premises (for rent, in the country) we even drove around on our days off searching.

Very quickly I decided that this was a waste of time and resources and that we would simply have to stay where we where and as we where. I told my advisors that if they wanted us to do this thing then THEY were going to have to show us the building.

One more thing I should mention. At this point I discussed, very briefly what was happening with my friend Angie, whose mediumistic gift I have the greatest respect for. She said she thought it was wrong to leave the Market and added “Who’s David?” (I did not know a David).

Last week, just two weeks after my original communication we were driving back from the Market to the new site, when we saw a sign (roadside not divine!). It read “offices and units to let”. As you can imagine we screeched the car to a halt and went to look. We drove down this track for about half a mile, right out in the country and overlooking Blithbury Reservoir. A truly beautiful location. At the bottom of the lane were premises that looked , at least from the outside pretty much ideal for healing and workshops.

Derek phoned the number on the sign, the man’s name is David. We went to look at a beautiful unit yesterday. There’s a room which will be ideal for healing, and a huge room to use for workshops, and an office. All within four miles of our Market stall, yet out in the middle of the country.

We sign the papers and pay the deposit next week.

March 31st

What sort of fool forgets to take her camera to her own show? Then updates her blog the day after and forgets to press the button? Hmmm you've got it! Me!

rhegedAndrea has a fabulous show lined up this weekend and I'm doing a Demonstration of Mediumship show  as part of that. It's at Rheged which is a huge underground shopping mall and theatre complex so that will be fun. A couple of days in Cumbria will be very nice.

Our Worcester show is looking wonderful. Loads of exhibitors, and here's how you can help: start with that positive thinking about the show NOW, believe with us that a lot of people are going to come through the doors and be helped that weekend! If you can come along it will be fabulous and you can buy a weekend pass for the price of a one day ticket if you do it online now.

14th March

By the way Lifequest was WONDERFUL as always - huge thankyous to Andrea and Barry for yet again orgainising a fabulous show.

I can't believe it's been so long since I blogged! And tomorrow it's our second Show! So here we are in Royal Leamington Spa. We're looking forward to meeting exhibitors and friends old and new and its looking like another huge success. Andy and Izzy are on the train on the way here - they have so kindly agreed to do the door for us. Bob has parked his caravan next to ours. 7.30 am will see us at the venue and the exhibitors arrive at 8 - I will take lots of piccies and post them next week.

28th February.

Well here we are again - Lifequest on Sunday!

So?

Well it was as a direct result of Lifequest 2007 that this blog was started - so happy birthday Blog!

ps Andrea really DOES organise the most fantastic shows so come if you can or miss it at your loss :O)

22nd February

stalloneI've not had much time to update this recently, so apologies. We've been getting ready for the Leamington show, working on the Market Stall (making wands and staffs, building a reading booth, buying stock, and working there). We've been to the Isle of Man too, oh, and I have written and recorded the second cd!

5th Feb

Fandabbydosy. What a fabulous weekend - over 300 people through the doors, every reader busy and very happy exhibitors - thank you to everyone who helped to make this weekend the tremendous success that it was. Especialy Steve Gamble who did the door for us and of course Bob for all his advice and encouragement.

Every single person who left on Sunday Evening left happy, feeling that the show had been very worthwhile for them. I am so glad that it was good, and personally I learnt a lot. Don't forget Leamington Spa is coming very fast - book your table now we have a couple of spaces left. - Here's a load of pictures that we took. I hope you enjoy them.

Knackered - more tommorow!

1st February 2008

OK . . . if we ain't ready, we ain't ready - advertising has been placed (and paid for) room is organised (and paid for). Advertising boards and banners are up. Direct mail is sent. Posters in shops.  Please, please whether you are there or not, please send your positive thoughts this weekend for the Leicester show. If you can come - don't miss it - we really DO have the best line up of exhibitors that I have personally ever seen at a show. The Line up includes, Ros Coleman, Steve Judd, Ian from Lizian, Alan and Anne Cox, Howard Hasleton (the Happy Healer), Runemaster, Seeaura, Ali Ladak . . . the list goes on and on. All this for only £3 admission - it's gotta be the bargain of the year!

25th January 2008

Wow I know I say it a lot but WHAT a busy time! I now have the burned cd's ready to sell agin thanks to Lizian - ok I know I'm prejudiced but they are really good and an absolute snip at only £4. Brilliant for meditation or just to relax to.

And . . . here we are in our permanent (for now anyway) centre here in Rugeley. It's a bit bare still - we opened only yesterday but I've already been busy reading. Derek's been selling crystals too.

New Year's Day

2008! Now I know less than nowt about astrology but there HAS been a recurring promise in every reading I have done for months that 2008 is going to be a fantastic year. I heard last night that there has been a Christmas Comet - the first for many years and this bodes fabulously well. Frankly I still know less than nothing about astrology but I do believe 2008 is going to be wonderful.

Loads of new stuff happening - obviously our shows are going to be fantastic and bookings are still arriving - we've got a line up of exhibitors that we're exceptionaly proud of, with many of the very top names in the country coming. At our first show in February I will be launching my first cd - it consists of four acoustic guitar tracks, Earth, Fire, Water and Wind. Recorded at Lizian. I'm proud of these pieces and I hope you like them too.

So a huge thank you to all our customers, all those  people who have supported us in 2007, we really do wish you the happiest, most prosperous and healthiest 2008 and look forward to seeing you all very soon.

Christmas Day

Merry Christmas all and everyone. We're in Cumbria at our friend Joanne's and came Via Lizzie and Ian's in Nottingham, where we had a wonderful evening fabulous food and great company. The turkey is in the oven, I'm probably going to have a few drinks later and enjoy the day. There's loads of exciting developments coming in the New Year - more about that then. For now have a wonderful Christmas, a fabulous Yule, Next year is worth looking forward to. Our love to all of you xxx

16th December

You know London is on ok place to be for a couple of weeks a year. People however, are sooooooooo busy rushing to work, rushing home for the tube, rushing back to work . . . here's the picture taken from our caravan doorstep.

11th December

OK trying to think of something positive to say. . . It's a lovely view out of our caravan of Tower Bridge - absolutely amazing. And the car park where we are is a film set for Terry Gilliam's new film. Literaly. open our door and the Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus is honestly only 30 ft away. The photos will be downloaded as soon as we have power in the camera. On a lighter? note Toby in the stall next to us is selling beef jerky I'm sure he doesn't appreciate me shouting at passers by "even Pinky and Perky eat his Jerky" Very fed up. Bored.

27th November

Right . . . trying to get chance to breathe. Have been (as always) busy! On Saturday I did a Tarot workshop in Crewe - at Lunacy at Sarah's it was good fun and it was nice to meet Tracy and Amanda and, as always, good to see David. Lucy and Sarah were their usual fun filled selves and we enjoyed ourselves. Sunday we had the day off . . . yes OFF sitting in the caravan working! lol.

I'm slowly getting the Natural Living Show Website up to date and dealing with enquiries about our shows. I honestly do believe that they are going to be realy great. Anyone who's NOT there - well it will be their loss - interestingly we are having a lot of interest from a whole variety of therapists. EFT practicioners, Hypnotherapists, Reiki, Massage . . . looking good.

From next week Derek will be offering Reiki Attunements too! Oh and at the end of the week we're going to London to work at a 12 hour a day Christmas Market for 14 days . . . Hmmm I think I'm going to bed!

21st November

Booking forms are pouring in and the phone is a lot busier. So far there seems to be a lot of interest in our shows, which is great, and I'm slowly trying to update the Natural Living Show Website. We're still in Burton - it's a lovely campite owned by a friendly farmer and we feel very relaxed here.

LizianAnyway we had a lovely phonecall on Saturday evening from our good friends Liz and Ian at Lizian in Nottingham  which went something like "You're at Tutbury Castle? In this weather? You must be mad! (true, it was awfull!) Come and see us tommorow evening, have a bath and a curry. Listen to Matt Munroe, Dexys Midnight Runners, and Drink Copious amounts of wine" - Thank you so much, both of you we had a wonderful evening and are just looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.

Just look at this sunset! Isn't it beautiful? It's the view from our caravan window at 4.30 this evening. A lovely and timely reminder of what's important. You know I've been so busy organising shows, emailing people, getting booking forms posted, and getting the caravan repaired that I forgot to appreciate things like sunsets for the last couple of days. So here's to sunsets, and mists over northern towns, and puppies and babies and good friends. The first flowers of spring, Autumn colours in the trees and snow from your window. Bonfires on cold nights and those we love and who love us . . . in other words the REALLY important things in life.

7th November

We've been busy and have now finalized our schedule of shows for next year with a show in Leamington in March and Chesterfield in November. Now's the time to ensure that your table is safe by returning your filled in booking forms to us. Available now from us direct on 07950 594478 or from the Natural Living Show Website (www.thenaturallivingshow.co.uk).

5th November

Happy Fireworks Day!

OK the secret's out. Derek and I are taking over the natural living shows. After a lot of talking, planning and secret negotiations with Bob prior to his retirement. We're excited over the challenge and already have 6 venues lined up for next year. Leicester is continuing and we're determined to build upon Bob's success there. Then we have Worcester and Hereford Racecourses booked, and Tipton in Birmingham. Shows lined up for February, April, May, August, September, and October, only March and November to fill and we'll have those details for you in the next couple of days. We WILL be limiting the spaces and number of exhibitors to only TWO of each kind of specialists (unless the shows are huge) so if you want to exhibit with us you'll need to get your booking forms in ASAP. We will also definitely be limiting the number of readers. These spaces we will be filling on a first come first served basis.

29th October

The end of yet another great week. Thanks to Izzy and Andy for their hospitality last week. We really enjoyed the evening and look forward very much to seeing them again soon.

Then Friday we went to Kempton Park for the big Rock 'n' Gem show. We met some lovely people and had a great time. Saturday night there was the biggest firework display that either of us have ever seen and we ate hot dogs and had a really good time. Then Sunday night we were both SO tired we were in bed by 9pm. Awoken only by the bin-men who thought it would be a good idea to empty the Racecource's bins at 10.30 at night. We have taken some photos on Saturday night but they havent been downloaded from Derek's phone yet. As soon as they are I'll post them here.

This morning we found out that there was a race meeting today so we had to get away sharpish and we are now in our caravan on a farm near Chesterfield it's quite lovely here and very peaceful. Derek says that the smell of Pine trees is wonderful. (I have no sense of smell)

Wednesday night we're at a Haloween do in Derby, then this weekend we're at Chesterfield. Bob,the organiser always puts a lot of effort into his shows, we saw the signs on the way in today so DO come along if you can, and help to make the weekend a good one.

A really busy week again which culminated in our visit to the Rock n Gem show at Neath in South Wales. The accomodation for the show was beautiful -an orangery in the grounds of Margam Park.

The show itself was great and well worth the drive down. I was not reading but simply assisting Derek selling crystals so it was a pleasant change for both of us here are some pictures.

16th October

Another week over and consigned to the history books! To be honest I realy can't remember too much about it! lol - age induced not drink I think.

Saturday and Sunday saw us in Lincoln at the North Kesteven Sports Centre doing a Natural Living MBS show. Sadly the numbers through the door were a bit dissapointing - especially for Bob who organised it, because I know he spent a fortune on advertising. There really doesn't seem to be a formula for success with shows. Nontheless we had an enjoyable weekend working with some lovely people.

At this moment in time we're in Leicester and will be travelling down to South Wales tomorrow.

8th October

Wow what a week! The journey back up to the Midlands from Winchester on Tuesday was a lot easier than the journey down (2.5 hours instead of 5). In the evening Alan and Ann invited us to visit to save me cooking after my drive and we had a lovely time with them as always.

Then on Wednesday we held a Tarot workshop at a house in Olbury (just three people) it was lovely. The lady who hosted it was called Isobell. She e-mailed us afterwards and asked us to publish here letter here, so this is it, I have to admit this bought a lump to my throat . . .

" Derek and Janey,

Sorry if you've heard this a million times, but thank you for teaching us so much, so well on Wednesday night. Hard to believe it of myself, but I'm not too bad at the tarot now. I think I'll have to practice a lot, but I understand how they work now. Not just one arcana or card type, but how to read differently according to how the cards fall. that's more than I expected after giving up so many times before.

As you said on the night, Andy is just an absolute natural. it's uncanny as he seriously had never looked at a deck before. He wasn't even interested to be honest, until I needed numbers so i could learn. He's read for me a few times, and although he can't be truly objective, He really can read them. I told him he'll need to try it on others soon, like family and friends.

On a personal note, I want to thank you both for the interesting conversation we had afterwards. I'm sorry if we kept you late, but Andy, Auntie and I could have chatted all night. it isn't often we get to speak to people who think like us, but have a deeper understanding of things.

Julie called the next morning regarding the bear we bought and she spoke to Andy. she gave him a taster of the reading she did for him. as far as I can make out, she basically said the same to him as Janey. he has work to do, it will start soon, he has to learn this on his own. no church or groups etc. just....... wow. Lol.

Please feel free to publish this on your website as a huge thumbs up to your talents and how comfortable you both make people feel.

I do hope our paths cross again, many times, as does Andy.

Love and light,

Isobel ....xxx

"

Then on Thursday we'd been invited to set up stalls - reading and crystals at a medium show with four stage mediums, it was quite good. However I met a trance medium who is called Angie, she totally blew ME away - what a gifted woman! The upshot is that I've been asked to go on the stage at their show next Thursday so we'll see what happens!

As I said - what a week! We travelled back up North on Friday ready for Lifequest-Todmorden on Saturday and Sunday.

Lifequest was nothing short of fabulous. Two days, 600 people and solid wall-to-wall reading for Janey.  If you are an exhibitor, you missed the best show that we have been to this year. If you live near Todmorden and didn't go - shame on you it was brilliant watch Andrea's dates for next year . . . Bury, the Rhegged Centre in Cumbria and Todmorden - we've already booked to be at all of them.

I honestly didn't get the chance to take any pictures - here's the two Derek took. One of yours truly and one of my "next door neighbour" Merle from Forever Living Products.todmorden1

1st October

venue_winchesterguildhallHmmmm the least said about Winchester and the show this weekend the better I think. It really was extremely quiet I guess Winchester just isn't ready for such an event. The highlights for us were seeing our good friend Janice (Earthwind) again. I miss her already she's such good fun, and a real breath of fresh air. As well as being a popular reader she also makes body products - check out her website. It was also lovely to meet Pixie and John who retail fabulous clothes in lushious (plus) sizes. It's probably a good job that I made no money this weekend I'd only have spent it on clothes!

Thanks to Howard - of Herbie Health who did a fabulous reflexology job on both Derek and myself. I believe that he will be at Todmorden next week. He really is worth a visit. Both of us feel so much better.

Tomorrow we head back up to the Midlands and I'm hoping that it won't take us 5 hours to get back as it did to get here! A workshop awaits us on Wednesday and I've been asked to read at a Psychic event on Thursday. Then Friday its on the M6 again up to Todmorden - what a life!

28th September

Ok we're here in Winchester. We've had a nightmare of a journey - 5 hours from Brum to Camp Site Via Wichester Town Centre towing our huge van. I'm tired and hungry and, to be honest, pretty nowty. Last night was good tho' - as was Wedesday when we visited with our friends Alan and Ann - they cooked us a beautiful meal, we will return the compliment (from the chippy probably!) soon, I hope. Last night we did a home evening in Oldbury, which was great so hi to Debbie and all.

24th September

castle_8I can't believe that it's a whole week since I last updated this blog! I thought it was only a day or two. Anyway yesterday we were at Tutbury Castle, (where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned) in a Marquee erected on an old graveyard - great fun :O)

I was busy . . . so busy in fact that I was reading someone, looked up and discovered that everyone else was packing away, in fact some readers had gone home! lol Thank you Marcus for a great show.

This week we're driving down to Birmingham, mid-week for a house party, then onto Winchester for the last ever Holistic Heaven.

17th September

Yesterday we were at the Mind Body and Spirit Show at the Pines Hotel in Whittle le Woods near Chorley. There were loads of exhibitors and I'm sure that anyone who attended would have realy enjoyed it. It was a shame from our point of view that there weren't more numbers through the doors.

On Saturday we went to visit our friends at Lunacy at Sarahs in Crewe - Sarah is quite poorly, in hospital at the moment. We really DO wish her a speedy and full recovery and would encourage everyone who reads this to send her love and healing.

Lucy presented Derek and myself with a poem she had written for us. It made me cry . . . here it is . . .

We stood to witness our friends great day

To let them know we care

To share their happiness and joy

We were honoured to be there

To take part in your handfasting

Built on love and Trust

Was nothing short of breathtaking

The spill of tears a must

Gathering together in the rain

As our ancestors would have

Promising faithfully to remain

In total honesty and helpless love

And even though there are times of strife

We will be there to make it less

We wish for you both the best in life

Health, love and happiness

9th September

Here I am blogging on a Sunday! yes a rare weekend-day-off and I'm enjoying it thoroughly. Yesterday we found ouselves back in the norty room at Life Quest in Bury. It was brilliant. A fabulous and VERY busy show. Afterwards Derek and I went out for a meal with Andrea, Barry, Chris and Beth, and realy enjoyed ourselves although I was so tired I'm not sure that I was particularly good company at all.  Also I think I may have been a little overdressed :O) Anyway thank you Andrea and Barry for a great show.

3rd September

Leicester was a great show! Brilliant socially too. Derek and I realy enjoyed the post-show meal at the Oadby Owl on Saturday and both of us truly enjoyed Bob and Ann's company on Sunday evening. It was lovely to see people that I read 12 months ago coming back to see me and get the lowdown on the next 12 months. Derek's stall is looking better and better too, with loads of new stock pretty much weekly. BTW we are now in Blackburn.

Monday Tuesday 28th August

In Leicester now. We drove up from Birmingham earlier today and we’re here and ready to take on the crowds at Oadby this weekend! lol The Sandwell Show this weekend was very busy on the Monday, it’s impossible to say how many people came because there was no charge but we believe it was many thousands. The Holistic Heaven team put a lovely marquee up for us and we, anyway, certainly enjoyed the event.

Friday 24th August

Off to Birmingham today. I have to say I left Wiltshire very reluctantly it’s such a spiritually active area. Where we were  was near to Avebury, within easy reach of Glastonbury, Stone Henge, multiple barrows, stone horses absolutely beautiful and I look forward to returning.

However I’m looking forward to the Holistic Heaven event this weekend – especially looking forward to seeing old friends again. Steve and Karen (astrology and massage) and Julie and Ray (Healing teddy bears) particularly.

Thursday 23rd August

At last I feel a little better and can again face food! My wonderful man took me out for an Indian in Corsham to celebrate my birthday. Wonderful food and, of course fabulous company.

Wednesday 22nd August

dandtwiltshireHappy Birthday to meeee! I won’t say how old,  just very old! We decided to have a day off. We went for lunch but Janey is still pretty unwell with the food poisoning I got the night before the handfasting. Had a lovely time anyway, then we went to Avebury to visit our stone. It’s a wonderful place – what really moved me was the fact that the flowers we left by the stone are still there, an offering to the gods of that place.

Monday 20th August (still)

Oh my gods I’m ill. Throwing up and feel desperate. I wouldn’t mind but I didn’t drink anything but tea yesterday!  Ian and Liz, who are great friends and wonderful people, called to see us this morning. I think a Chinese meal is calling the four  of us sometime over the next couple of weeks.

Monday 20th August

Well yesterday was a very very special day - many of you have asked for piccies well here are a few. A million thankyous to all of you who made the effort to travel (in some cases for NINE hours) to be with us. We love you all and are so grateful for your friendship, love and support - especialy Paul Silverfox who officiated at the ceremony, Joanne & Dawn who were handmaidens and Suraya who stepped in at the very last minute to help. Also the Four Quarters, Lucy, Sarah, Ros & Mark - a great big hug to you all.

It started off at the campsite in Lacock where we have been camped for a few days - Dawn and Ron (my sister and bro in law) came down and collected us.

We drove over to the stones at Avebury and it started to rain and rain and rain. We did have an alternative venue to the stones (a gazebo at the rear of the Red Lion) which would have been ok but a lot of people had travelled down to at handfastong at the majestic stones and when we asked them - that what still what they wanted so we set off in the rain and mud. Thank you Universe for the weather it actually made the day much more memorable and do you know what? I never noticed it was raining throughout the ceremony :O)

Tuesday 14th August

Well we’re back in England again – after a five-day, very enjoyable visit to the Isle of Man, where we had (as always) a wonderful time with Alice. Mananan smiled on us, with a glorious crossing over, and the weather was, on the whole very good.

We’re supposed to be taking it fairly easy for a couple of weeks with the IoM visit last weekend and the handfasting this coming Sunday, apart from tomorrow night, when we’re visiting our friends at the Saddle Inn in Lea to do readings. Then Thursday we’re driving down to Avebury. Friday its Glastonbury here we come (hooooooray , I love Glastonbury). Then Saturday we start meeting the guests who have decided to make a weekend of it. So if you happen to be in the area of the Red Lion in Avebury on Saturday night (or the Saddle at Lea tomorrow) – pop in and say hi – mine’s a voddy & coke, Derek’s a cold Guinness :O) Pictures – hopefully loads of them will be posted on here asap next week.

6th August.

Well - after a hectic Weekend (how unusual!!) At the Woodvale Rally, we're back in Clayton Le Dale again. I must say that I love this campsite, it's really quiet and today its very sunny and I'm sat here looking outta my window at trees and grass and hills in the background - OMG it's SUCH a hard life LOL. We're still working very hard to bring everything that we sell into our shop on here. I honestly didn't realise that Derek had built the stock up so very much we will get there though and the range will be very impressive - even if I DO say so myself!
